観光ネタをもうひとつ。TripAdvisorというところが、世界各都市で観光した場合のコストについて、面白い調査結果を出しています。

４つ星ホテルに２人で宿泊し、タクシーで２マイル走り、５つ星ホテルのバーで２人でカクテルを楽しみ、２人でディナーのコースとワインボトル１本空けた場合、いくらになるかという指標です。

日本の東京が$349.62です。クアラルンプールが$194.43、シンガポールが$374.94、香港が$238.4です。

割安なアジア諸都市の中、シンガポールは高いですがそれでもカジノなど観光関連施設がどんどん建ち、それを目当てに観光客を集めています。

KL is 5th Best Value International City: TripIndex 2012

Kuala Lumpur has been recorded as the fifth Best Value International City according to TripIndex 2012 by the world's largest travel site, TripAdvisor.

Based on the combined costs for two of a one-night stay in a four-star hotel, one cocktail per person, a two-course dinner with a bottle of wine and round-trip taxi rides, Kuala Lumpur's total TripIndex tallied at US$194.43 (RM618.58).

Ranking first on TripIndex's Best Value International Cities is Hanoi, Vietnam with a total cost of US$141.12 (RM448.97), while the most expensive city is London marking a sum of US$518.01 (RM1,648.05) on the index. Also noteworthy is that Singapore has been ranked 10th and was the only Asian city to make the most expensive city list.

TripIndex 2012 is a cost comparison of accommodations and an evening out on the town for two people in popular tourist cities across the United States and throughout the world.

TripAdvisor tabulated prices collected through various research methods. Prices were taken in local currencies from March to May 2012 and converted into USD (when necessary) on May 29, 2012.
