外国からの投資を集め、内需主導で成長しているインドネシアですが、その恩恵をもっとも受けているセクターの一つに商用車があります。

インフラの整備が進むうちに、物流も盛んになり、輸送を担う商用車の需要が強まっているのです。

日本の自動車メーカーも盛んに進出していますね。

Commercial Vehicle Sales Increases

JAKARTA: The demand of commercial vehicles is believed to continue to increase over the next few years as the economic growth encouraged the infrastructure development.

Chairman III Johnny Darmawan said the the government's program in Masterplan for the Indonesia's Economic Development Acceleration and Expansion (MP3EI) will drive demand for commercial vehicles, especially trucks.

"The infrastructure development will boost demand for mixing and transport trucks for construction needs," he said, Wednesday (9/26).

According to him, a very good economic growth and industrial development in the country will drive increased demand for mass transportation as well as transportation for goods and services distribution.

Marketing Division of PT Astra Multi Trucks Indonesia, the UD Trucks sole agent, Yunus Sunaryo said the significantly grown national economy has encouraged the industry to maximize the production capacity.

He said the positive developments in the domestic economy and industry helped to boost growth in the commercial vehicle market by 40% - 48% so that the nationwide sales forecast of 30,000 units by the end of the year is believed to be achieved.

The association data shows the total commercial vehicle sales during the first 8 months of this year reached 214,953 units or 30% of the total vehicle market, while all segments increased 15.6% compared to the same period of last year as many as 186,020 units.
