マレーシア イスカンダル計画にインドネシア投資資金を期待

マレーシア　ジョホール地区の開発計画であるイスカンダル計画は内外の投資資金を集め、着々と進行中のようですが、９月１３日から１６日にジャカルタでプロモーションをするそうです。

欧州債務危機や経済不振で欧米の投資があまり期待できない中、東南アジア域内の投資家の存在感が増していることをうかがわせる記事です。東南アジアの域内経済の関係が緊密化しており、インドネシアも着実に力をつけているということでしょうか？


Iskandar targets Indonesian investors

Iskandar Malaysia's property and hotel development, logistics, finance and health care sectors are expected to attract Indonesian investors through greater investment promotion, according to Syahril Syazli Ghazali, Economic Counselor at the Malaysian Embassy.

"The Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) should use its participation at the 3rd Muslim World Business and Investment Zone (BIZ) Conference and Exhibition in Jakarta on September 13 to 16 to promote Iskandar Malaysia to the target markets," said Syahril.

Iskandar Malaysia has already generated RM95.45 billion in committed investments as of the middle of this year, with foreign investors accounting for 40 percent and a small portion from Indonesian investors, added Syahril.

He explained that Iskandar Malaysia could make use of its strategic location near Singapore to lure in more Indonesian investors, as most of them have business interests there.

Moreover, the IRDA should look into investment incentives in strategic industries as well as maintain enough manpower supply in property development projects.

Syahril added that the International Trade and Industry Ministry and other agencies at the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta could assist the IRDA in boosting the economic ties between the two countries.
