マレーシアの証券取引には証券会社の口座のほかにCDS口座が必要

BOOM証券などに口座を開いて、マレーシアの株式やREITなど証券取引をするときには、別途CDS口座というものを開かなければならないようです。

これはBOOM証券のカスタマーサポートとやりとりをしていて、マレーシアREITを取り扱っているか？と質問をしたときの回答です。やりとりをそのまま書きますと。

Sure, you could buy the REIT stocks in the stock exchanges that you mentioned.
However, for any stocks buying in Malaysia, you are required to set up a Malaysian CDS account after opening a Boom account.
The CDS account opening fee is USD 5. In case you have no trading activity for the calendar month, there will be account inactivity fee of USD 3 per month.

もちろんできます。ただし、マレーシアの証券に投資するときは、当社の口座を開設したあとに、別途CDS口座というものを開設しなければなりません。開設費用はUS５ドルで、何か月か取引しなかったら別途１か月につき３ドル徴収されます。

The CDS account is an account with the Central Depository System in Malaysia. Each individual investor must have such custodian account in order to trade Malaysia Market, whereas there is no such requirement for other markets BOOM offers.

CDS口座とは、マレーシアの中央決済システムにともなう口座のことです。すべての個人投資家はマレーシアの株式を取引するときは、このカストディ口座（日本でいうほふり）を開かなければなりません。BOOMで扱う他の市場にはこのような要件はありません。

Although it is the market requirement to open a CDS account, you can trade Malaysia stocks with your existing BOOM account just like other market. You do not need to manage a separate account for your Malaysian investment.

他の証券口座でマレーシア株などを取引きするときは、一回CDS口座を作ったら他のCDS口座を作る必要はありませんよ。

And If the time comes when I wolud like to invest in Malaysian stocks after opening account,Can I open the CDS account then?

If possible,I would like to open the account via mail, not visiting your company. Can I do it ?

Yes, you can open the boom account without opening the CDS account at the beginning and you can choose to open the CDS later if you wish.

できます。最初はCDS口座を作らずにBOOM証券の口座を開き、口座開設後にマレーシア株を取引きしたいときにCDS口座を開くことはできますよ。郵送のときは下記手続きをおこなってください。

1) Complete the online Application Form at the following link
https://baby.boom.com.hk/en/service_support/online_application_form/
2) After filling out the form , please print the form out
3) Make a copy of your official ID or passport page;
4) Make a copy of your proof of address (e.g. utility bills, bank statements issued within 3 months);
5) Have your Witness signed on your Application Form: Your signature(s) on the application must be witnessed by a Justice of Peace, or professional (such as Bank Manager, Certified Accountant, Solicitor or Notary Public). A witness must (i) sign and state their full name and specific designation (e.g. registration with which law / accounting association) right below your signature on the application, and (ii) sign and write "Certified True Copy" on the proof of your identity.
6) Mail the above documents to

CDS口座ってなんぞやと、聞きなれない言葉でしたが、口座開設にはUS＄5、取引しなければ１か月につきUS$3とられるとのこと。なんだかマレーシア株やREITを取引する意欲がなえてしまいます。CDSとは、クレジットデフォルトスワップのことではなく、Central Depository Systemのことで、有価証券の権利を主張したり売買に必要な口座のようです。

ちなみに、ブルサ　マレーシアという東証にあたるホームページを見ますと次のようになっています。

これ、マレーシアの制度ですからたとえば日本のアイザワ証券なんかでマレーシア株買ってもCDS口座開かないといけないと思うんですがどうなんでしょうかね。
